Alan Kearns

Alan is the Head Coach and the Brand Champion! of CareerJoy™. He is one of Canada's foremost experts on all things career. With more than 14 years of experience coaching people through successful career changes, he brings an intimate knowledge of the entire transition process to all of his clients. He is the creator of Career Identity Program™, the Career Transition Program™, the Career Empowerment Process™, and the Biographical Career Map™. Alan was trained as an optician, and made a career transition of his own to the career management profession. He was the co-founder and President of TalentLab, a high tech search firm with offices in Ottawa, Toronto and San Diego.

Alan is associated with the What Color Is Your Parachute? career search team, as well as being certified in the Highlands Career Assessment Methodology and the DISC Personal Profile. Alan was a founding member of the International Association of Coaches (IAC) and also has memberships with the Career Masters Institute (CMI) and the International Association of Career Management Professionals (IACMP).

Alan was voted one of the Top 40 entrepreneurs under the age of 40, speaks regularly on CBC radio, as well as at Chapters. He has been featured in Venture, The National Post and The Globe & Mail and is the Career Expert for As well, Alan lectures regularly at OCRI, Queens University, Carleton University and Algonquin College. He is married, and has two children, two dogs, three cats and some mice in his garage ... and he loves to chase them all!
